Character Traits

Words I would use to describe myself would be...
stubborn: most of the time I got my way-when people told me to do something that I didn't want to do I didn't do it. I did this mostly in my childhood.
Positive: I don't think much about the negative side of things in life plus, why think negative? You can always find something positive.
Loving: I remember the time I got mad at my little sister because she was eating a letter I had written, so I grabbed the letter out of her mouth; I felt really bad because she was crying, so I made her a different paper that she could eat. I can't stand when people are upset.
Blind& deaf: I got really sick when I was just two years old, and became blind and deaf.
Those are only some of many words I would describe myself as.

My Childhood

Hey! This is me, Helen Keller. I am here because I was told that you wanted to get an inside scoop on my life. To start off I will tell you about my childhood. I was born June 27, 1880. I had my horrible illness in February 1882. That means I was only two years old! The effect of my illness was to be blind and deaf.
My mommy and daddy hired Teacher to help me learn how to do things on my own. She came March 3, 1887 when I was six years old. I was very confused at first of how the sign language thing worked, but once I understood I was a very quick learner. Teacher told me that I could memorize a ton of things. Also she told me I was very intelligent.
Before Teacher came I was very spoiled! I would get almost everything I wanted. It got so bad that I took food off of other peoples plates. I was very unladylike and Teacher wasn't very happy.
Ever since I was a child I loved the outdoors. I loved it more while I was learning with Teacher because there was so much to learn about. I understood what sign language meant outside at the water pump near my house. My first word that I understood was water.
